Shorty Robbins, along with John and Fin Kernohan (please see below), are your Hosts, and the Organizers, of the 2016 Florida Tiny House Festival.
Shorty has been a Civil War Living Historian for over 20 years, and it is through this hobby she found her way into the tiny house movement.
Originally, Shorty’s tiny house build was a solution for her not to set-up and take down tents at events… but it soon became much more than that. Her Victorian tiny house, known as “Nawaka”, is a mobile historical exhibit, which tells the story of life in the late 19th century.
Shorty’s presentation during the 2016 Florida Tiny House Festival, “My Historic Tiny Journey”, will both take you back in time to the Victorian period of our great Country and, also, be a sharing of Shorty’s personal journey during her build of “Nawaka”.
Also, be sure to visit with Shorty and tour “Nawaka”, where Shorty will happily share about her entire build from start to finish, the materials she used (90% of which are recycled/re-claimed/re-used), the costs involved, and the pitfalls to avoid. (Who knows… maybe Shorty will appear in character wearing one of her authentic period outfits.) You can visit Shorty and “Nawaka” on-line at www.shortystinyhouse.com
